Call for Abstracts

Presentation Types 

You will be required to indicate your preferred presentation format when submitting an abstract. 

The final decision on acceptances and on publication and presentation formats are at the discretion of the Organising Committee.

There are two types of presentation formats. Presenters can select either 'Oral' or 'Poster', or 'Oral or Poster' if they wish to be considered for either. See below for further information on each of these presentation types.

Themes

The following themes are broad and inclusive and may assist with guidance for your submission. You will be asked to nominate your primary theme during the submission process. A secondary theme may also be chosen, if appropriate. 

Please note all of the below themes are in relation to endometriosis and adenomyosis. 

• Fertility and pregnancy (e.g. fertility, reproductive and obstetric outcomes in relation to endometriosis and adenomyosis)
• Imaging
• Life course stages (e.g. endometriosis and adenomyosis at the extremes of reproductive ages, e.g. adolescents, and perimenopause/menopause and relationship with cancer)
• Non-surgical treatments (e.g. medical; HIFU, RF, etc.; sclerotherapy, etc.)
• Pain (e.g. painful conditions coexisting with endometriosis and adenomyosis)
• Pathogenesis
• Social sciences (e.g. psychological considerations, social impacts and epidemiology of endometriosis and adenomyosis such as nutritional interventions, complementary and alternative medicine for endometriosis and adenomyosis; psychologic considerations; and social sciences and epidemiology)
• Subphenotypes 
  
• Surgery (e.g. live surgery/robotic surgery, pelvic nerve endometriosis, extrapelvic endometriosis etc.)
  

The Congress welcomes submissions from any other themes not mentioned above however they must still relate to endometriosis and adenomyosis; you will be asked to indicate your theme during the submission process. 

WES International Travel Grants

The World Endometriosis Society (WES) has made available a limited number of international travel grants to support attendance at the Congress. To be eligible to be considered for an international travel grant you must:

• be a current WES Member
• be an Early Career applicant (see definition below) 
• reside outside of Türkiye
• submit an abstract and be accepted to present in the program

If you wish to be considered for an international travel grant, you must indicate at the time of submitting your abstract. The value of the travel grants will be made available on this website in due course. 

Awards and Prizes

A number of awards and prizes will be offered to Early Career (EC) applicants who are accepted to present in the program.  

To be eligible for these awards, the lead author/presenter must be an EC at the time of the Congress. An EC is defined as 15 years FTE post medical school for clinical/10 years post PhD for all other categories. 

If you wish to be considered for these awards and prizes, you must indicate at the time of submitting your abstract. 

Rodolphe Maheux and David Healey Awards

The Rodolphe Maheux Award is applicable to Early Career Clinicians and the David Healey Award is applicable to Early Career Scientists*. The winners of these awards will be determined pre-Congress from the top scoring oral clinical abstract and top scoring oral scientific abstract. 

The winners of these awards will be invited to present in the Early Career plenary session. 

*Clinicians no longer providing clinical care can nominate for the David Healey Award. 

Presentation Awards

Presentation Awards will be judged and awarded onsite at the Congress as follows: 

• Best Oral Presentation by an EC Clinician (the Rodolphe Maheux Award)
• Best Oral Presentation by an EC Scientist (the David Healy Award)
• Best Poster Presentation by an EC Researcher (selected from the top 24 digital poster presentations)

Abstract Template

Please click on the button below to download and save the abstract submission template. Please ensure you are following all requirements within the abstract template, including advising the country where research was undertaken and ensuring the word count does not exceed 300 words (excluding title). Guidelines for how abstracts should be formatted are included on the template. Incomplete or incorrect submissions will be returned for you to update and then re-submit.

Abstracts will be blind reviewed so should not include be any identifying information within the abstract template. You will be able to upload information on the authors of your abstract during the abstract submission process. 

Abstract Submission Amendments

Once submitted, abstracts can be amended via the portal up until the submission deadline of Friday 15 January 2027.

Abstract Notification and Acceptance

The details provided as the author contact should be for the nominated main contact for your abstract. Communiation relating to the submission will be directed to this person and they should in turn distribute to all co-presenters.

Abstract review results will be communicated to the author contact on Wednesday 24 February 2027. 

Acceptance of offers are required to be advised to the Congress Office by no later than Wednesday 10 March 2027.

Author Registration

The invitation to submit an abstract does not constitute an offer to pay travel, accommodation or registration costs associated with the Congress. Similarly, no presenter fee is paid to successful participants. 

Presentations must be delivered in person and the ability and willingness to present in Türkiye will be a condition of acceptance in the program.

The nominated presenter of successful submissions must register to attend the Congress before Sunday 18 April 2027 in order for the presentation to be included in the Congress program. Should you subsequently wish to change the presenting author to another co-author, please advise the Congress Office in advance.
